Change does not just happen, we make it happen

Over the last 250 years or so there have been mammoth advances in science and technology and it is undeniable that this has been to the benefit of our species. However these advances have not been accompanied by social developments to limit undesirable outcomes. The human race has come to a point in history where we confront this failing or risk catastrophe. The only certainty is that long term we cannot continue along the current path for eventually circumstances will force us to act.
The world population (1) in April 2017 was estimated to be 7.5 billion and the United Nations projects a figure of 11.7 billion in the year 2100. We are already experiencing severe environmental issues and a review of a planet management system is urgently needed. Do we have a system in place designed to optimise desirable outcomes for the inhabitants of this planet? Everyone of us is a stakeholder in the overall social and environmental health of the earth. Change does not just happen, we as stakeholders must make it happen.
This blog is to open a discussion on the failings of the current system and options for the future.
